Overflowing Icemaker
This bottom mount Whirlpool fridge was making ice non-stop. After removing all the ice, I found the ice-maker shutoff arm was no longer inserted into the ice-maker. I reinstalled it and now this unit should shut off when the bucket is full. This problem was probably caused by putting a box on top of the ice bucket and then shutting the door.

Hey James,
It depends on the brand of fridge. If your’s was a Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid one, the model/serial tag is usually located inside the fresh food section on the right hand side wall or on the roof of the fresh food section. Usually, fridge fires don’t affect those areas. There is only one tag on a fridge, so if that gets removed or damaged, there is no other place to look.
The only other suggestion that I would have is – if you sent in your warranty card, then the manufacturer will have your model and serial number on file. You might go that route if you think you sent it in.
James
How do you find a serial number on a fridge that has bad fire damage? I have looked all over the unit inside and out. Is a hidden place that is more protected from fire and such. I dont have the fridge anymore but was wondering just the same.
