Replacing a Torn Door Boot on a Duet Washer

Some guys were wondering how to replace a door boot on a Whirlpool Duet washer without removing the front panel. This is how I do it.

Please excuse the background noise on the video – this was recorded with my cell phone ….

No problem Scott. I’ve got an even faster way of doing it now – I’ve got it down to just over 5 mins. I’ll do a video of the new way on the next one I get.

Hey Brian – Yes, a door boot change is 20 mins now, in and out. I love them – quick and easy – a good money maker.

I have changed many of these myself. I wondered if there was a way to do this without taking off the front panel and save time. The first boot seal replacement went slow. I can now do the whole job quite quickly and surly save time. I use a standard 1/4″ rachet with socket and the nut driver.

Good job…i too like those small ratchet sets from canadain tire i bought a few extras when they went on sale. One thing i like to do is make sure i press in on the front wire clamp around the perimeter(something blunt) so it seats in snug on the door boot. The spring is not high tension and to me does not seat the wire in the groove very deep by itself…over time i suppose it would compress in. Before i was doing this i had 2 or 3 front clamps slip off when the customer loaded larger items.
